Good News - Stratford Market Village to reopen soon

On Tuesday, our proposal to take on the 15-year lease of Stratford Market Village was agreed. The Council will now work with the traders to sort out all the legal and operational matters so that the market can reopen very soon.

We will be announcing the reopening of the market as soon as possible, so do keep an eye out. When the market does reopen please make sure you visit to support our local small business community and help them make up for the losses they have faced over the past three months when they have been unable to trade from the market.

Warning sign1

Be aware of Autism Cure misinformation

We have recently been made aware of a doctor coming from overseas promising to cure autism in young children in exchange for large sums of money.

Please be advised that there is currently no cure for autism, the treatment being offered is not licensed or recognised in the UK. This treatment could cause very serious problems for vulnerable young children whilst creating financial problems for parents and carers.

If you hear or experience this issue, you can report it confidentially by contacting Newham’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub on 0203 373 4600
