Join us on Saturday to plant trees at Gooseley Playing Fields
We are embarking on a mission to plant trees at Gooseley Playing Fields, and we want YOU to be part of it! This project isn't just about planting trees, it's about creating a more equitable and resilient borough. By building Gooseley Park Forest, we're not only enhancing public health and biodiversity, but also mitigating the impacts of extreme weather events. Join us in this initiative to improve air quality, foster ecosystems, and create wildlife-rich environments. Let's make a positive impact, one tree at a time! Open to all ages.
Date: Saturday 13 April Location: Gooseley Park Playing Fields Time: 10am-2pm Sign up to plant trees at Gooseley Playing Fields here > |

| New leisure centre provider GLL has officially taken over the management of our leisure centres, operating them under the Better brand.
It means you may notice some changes at Atherton Leisure Centre, East Ham Leisure Centre and Newham Leisure Centre, largely due to the look and feel of each site.
A variety of activities for everyone will still be available. Better also runs a number of swimming lessons as part of Better Swim School. A dedicated communities team will also be delivering much needed activities in our community, all aimed at improving our health and wellbeing.

Bring your bicycle to Dr Bike for a free check During spring-summer 2024, Dr Bike is coming to Newham!
Dr Bike mechanics check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears and tyre pressure to lights, racks, pedals, saddles and more. Any minor adjustments they can make to your bike they'll do there and then for free. Anything they can't fix on-site they’ll let you know exactly what needs doing and a rough guide to what it should cost at your local bike shop.
All Dr Bike mechanics are friendly and approachable and have a wealth of cycling knowledge, so feel free to ask them questions about cycle training or other cycling activities. Sessions are open to all.
